Shakedown Traditional Hot Rod and Custom Festival Moving to a New Location
Oshkosh, WI, June 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Wisconsin's largest traditional hot rod and custom show expands to a new, larger venue! More camping, more show cars, more vendors, and more to see and do at the Pioneer Airport on the EAA Grounds. Fly in a 1928 Tri-Motor Ford or 1929 Travel Air open-cockpit bi-plane during the show.
Over the last seven years, The Shakedown has grown to the premier hot rod and custom weekend event in Wisconsin. See hundreds of 1964 and older modified vehicles, with pre-1965 styling. A special section for all show vehicles up to 1975. Also see minibike races, vintage bicycles, vintage campers, famous hot rod swap meet and dozens of vendors selling everything from vintage clothing to new and used auto parts. Each night at dusk there is a car flame throwing demonstration. Weekend camping, with or without power and water, available on site. Over 20 music acts performing on multiple stages for three days. Great food and beverages serviced from breakfast to late night. Student and Military discounts available.
For the third year, there is a raffle to benefit the Beja Shriners from Green Bay, WI. This year, a chance at winning a 1950 Chevrolet. Tickets are available online or at the show for $10 each. Donations are also accepted for the Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Shelter in Oshkosh. Exchange a donated item for a free gift from The Shakedown! Please check symcoshakedown.com for more information and a list of items they are requesting.
To complement the event, the City of Oshkosh has wonderful businesses, museums and attractions for all to enjoy. Check out one of the local drive-ins, or the WWII nose art exhibit at the EAA Museum. There is no shortage of things to do outside their event. For those who don't camp, there are dozens of hotels within minutes.

About the Shakedown
Founded in 2008, this year is the 8th annual event. Formerly the Symco Shakedown, we are a 1964 and older traditional hot rod and custom car and music festival. This is a lifestyle event and it is labeled “Summer Camp For Hot Rodders”. The show recreates the feeling of being at a custom car show before 1965. Hundreds of vintage cars, trucks, motorcycles, vintage campers, mini bikes and classic bicycles attend. Many of the participants live the lifestyle and dress in period attire during our event. Attendance has averaged 15,000 people for the last three years. The EAA Grounds also helps to make this a unique event, unlike any other.
