Broward Meals on Wheels Announces New Brand Identity at Gatsby Gala
Renamed Organization Unveils New Logo and Branding to Efficiently Serve the South Florida Community.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, June 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Broward Meals on Wheels, one of the largest Meals on Wheels chapters in the U.S. addressing senior hunger and isolation, announced on June 2 at its Gatsby Gala its official name change to Meals on Wheels South Florida and launched its new brand identity, designed by Duffy & Partners. Celebrating 32 years of serving the community, the organization hosted the Roaring 20’s themed event at Woodlands Country Club in Tamarac, raising more than $30,000.
Nearly 200 attendees at the Gatsby Gala enjoyed a night of speakeasy-approved spirits, dinner, dancing, and silent auctions in addition to the official announcement of the new branding.
“We were thrilled to announce our new brand at the event in front of our community partners, volunteers and donors,” said Mark Adler, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels South Florida.
“By adopting this new brand, we are strengthening our ability to effectively serve seniors throughout all of South Florida.”
The new brand is a foundational step to building the capacity needed to serve the rapidly growing demand for Meals on Wheels services in America and was designed to more clearly and evocatively convey Meals on Wheels as a vital safety net addressing senior isolation and hunger in virtually every community across the country.
“This new identity symbolizes the power found in people coming together - a forward movement - where the wheels of urgency generate an energy that is central to the very essence of the organization, just as the ‘M’ and ‘W’ are essential to the most beloved and recognized name that Meals and Wheels evokes,” said Joe Duffy, Creative Director at Duffy & Partners. “In my 30 years in this business, I have never been more proud to extend our hand in using the power of design to contribute to the enrichment of lives for so many."
Meals on Wheels South Florida is part of a national network, Meals on Wheels America, the only national organization dedicated solely to ending senior hunger in America. Meals on Wheels America is the oldest and largest organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
Gatsby Gala event sponsors included: Broward Health, Charlotte Fights Cancer Foundation, FPL, GA Foods, Ginsberg Shulman Law Firm, Greentree Financial Group, The South Florida Luxury Guide, Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists of Florida, P.A. and Easy 2 Ink Printing.
