Great Futures for UKFast Internet Awards Winners
ISP UKFast announces its annual internet awards revealing some of the Internet’s most exciting new prospects. 2007 was a great year for creative agencies, niche websites, specialist e-commerce merchants and environmental software developer Historic Futures.
Manchester, United Kingdom, January 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Internet Service Provider, UKFast has announced the winners of its annual internet awards and the SMEs have finished 2007 on top.
UKFast runs one of the largest website networks in Britain and over 100,000 business sites are eligible to enter its annual Internet Awards. Following victories by Sainsbury’s and Square Enix last year, the winners this time are smaller businesses punching way above their weight.
Cheltenham based Historic Futures is UKFast’s Internet Innovator taking the top award for its software ‘String’ which is being harnessed by major corporations across the globe, including Woolworths, to give supply chain traceability to their products.
The Enterprise E-commerce trophy went to multi-award winning Insurance website www.caunceohara.com while Best Community Site was won by Linux Format magazine online. In other categories, it was a good year for creative agencies with CSI Media, Imajica, Selesti and 11outof10.com winning accolades for their client work.
The judges were thrilled to reward the ‘backbone of the UK online landscape’ for their hard work. Lawrence Jones, MD of UKFast; Chris Barry, Business Editor of the Manchester Evening News and Charlie Hodgson, Sale and England Rugby Union star agreed that Britain’s SMEs are really beginning to take their place online and compete in the toughest of environments.
“With 200 per cent more entries this time around, both the winners and shortlists represent a very high standard and suggest great things for the UK’s ability to succeed in a global marketplace,” said Jones. “The online economy continues to grow, despite uncertainty in other areas and it’s evident that our clients are making the most of a platform for success online.”
