Mieroglyphs Creates a Symbol of "More Love. Less Hate."
Orlando, FL, June 16, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The aftermath of a world-changing hate crime has left families broken hearted, a community in shock, and a planet in a state of vulnerability. The Pulse nightclub shooting was a tragedy that should have never occurred. Far too many questions will go left unanswered. Especially as to how a person could see no value, in so many extremely valuable human lives.
The small Mieroglyphs team awoke on Sunday, June 12th, 2016, to countless texts, tweets, and messages from family, friends, and social media. Parked in the vintage RV mobile office they have been travelling the country in since January 1, 2016, in Boise, Idaho, they quickly learned of the shocking events that had taken place in a nightclub in Orlando. Orlando is where Mieroglyphs was founded. It is also where many members of the Miero team were raised the majority of their lives and where their family and close friends continue to reside.
After reaching out to some of their closest friends that were at high risk for having been present during the horrific event, they were fortunate enough to find relief that many of their loved ones were safe and sound. However, the shock and sadness of what they felt for their home-town community was still highly overwhelming. As a team, discussing the reality of what it means to have a voice as a small company, it was decided that Mieroglyphs would design a symbol of hope and love and retail it for fundraising purposes. The purpose of the Mieroglyphs brand has always been rooted in inspiring others and spreading positivity. There was no more important time to instill that message than when their home-town was facing such a deep loss.
The Miero design that was created is the “More Love. Less Hate.” band. With social media already dictating a symbol of pride for the city of Orlando, Mieroglyphs wanted to embody that symbol while making it something that everyone could feel comfortable representing. A simple, all black Miero, with rainbow thread stitching and cork leather inside (true to all Miero products) featuring the simple and unifying message “More. Love. Less Hate.” was created and launched immediately.
The price of the Miero is retailed on their site for $10 less than their standard collection to help increase the availability of this product for all consumers that wish to wear this symbol. 10% of all sales are being donated to help the victim’s families of the Pulse nightclub shooting through a Go Fund Me organization.
Mieroglyphs hopes that this Miero becomes a symbol of a movement that encourages tolerance, respect, and love in every community. Replacing hatred with hope for the future is what Mieroglyphs wishes for every person to find when they see this symbolic band. Peace is what they hope Orlando finds soon.
