Las Vegas, Nevada Resident and Author Linda Stiles Fox Confirms Rumor of Cancer Diagnosis

Las Vegas, NV, June 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Author Linda Stiles Fox was hospitalized last August with acute stomach pain and after extensive testing, a mass was found in her lower abdomen. Surgery was scheduled and a partial colonectomy was performed. A follow up with Oncologist Rupesh Parikh at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada confirmed a diagnosis of Carcinoid Cancer. Fox is currently undergoing Octreotide treatment for the tumors with monthly injections. According to the author, progress is being made however it is a slow progress.

"I would just like people to be aware that there's more than breast cancer or colon cancer or the other cancers that come on strong and have specific symptoms," says Fox. "Carcinoid Cancer is very quiet as in it usually goes undetected unless the patient is treated for something else. It's quiet, unassuming like a zebra. So unlike other cancers that come about like thundering horses hooves."

Fox is currently working on the second book of her Island Love Series and says she hopes that she'll be able to bring more attention to a little known and rare cancer as she makes appearances for book signings and fund raising.
