US Senate Candidate "Rocky" De La Fuente to Attend Kennedy-King Dinner
Orlando, FL, June 25, 2016 --(PR.com)-- “Rocky” Roque De La Fuente, Democratic candidate for United States Senate from Florida, will be attending the Orlando County Democratic Party’s Kennedy-King Leadership Dinner this evening.
The event is designed to highlight and “defend… Democratic gains from 2012 and elect even more Democrats at the local, state, federal level while delivering the margins necessary to send a Democrat to the White House,” according to the event’s website.
Its goal is to raise money to continue to promote Vote-by-Mail programs to increase Democratic voter turnout in Orange County; provide critical support to targeted races via Robocalls, Absentee Chase, and GOTV programs; and make Voter Guides available at polling locations to inform Democratic voters on candidates and issues.
De La Fuente is a resident of Orlando and officially filed on the first possible day to run for Florida’s United States Senate seat that will be contest in this year’s General Election. He recently competed in 46 primaries for the Democratic presidential nomination. De La Fuente has long been tied to minority issues.
“I don’t have to pretend to understand minority issues as a lot of traditional politicians do because I’ve actually experienced them,” said De L a Fuente. He is a bi-lingual, first generation American who recently received an Honorary Doctorate from The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for his work as an International Corporate Ambassador.
