RE/MAX Southern Advantage Launches First Technology in Their SAVVI Initiative

Pitttsboro, NC, January 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The GPS Program for Buyers, Sellers, and Brokers:

Today RE/MAX Southern Advantage went live with its GIS To GPS Program. The program consists of the ability to load directly into a GPS, the boundaries of any parcel or parcels of land from the Chatham County GIS system, or any surrounding County’s GIS system. They are also able to include elevation, topos, geographic features, and even download satellite images to these GPS. This allows Brokers the ability to go out to a piece of land anywhere in the County and confidently know where the boundaries of that property are and where they are in relation to the property boundaries. Likewise, Brokers can work with both buyers and sellers to help them understand the location of property lines, which can be a challenge in rural areas like Chatham County where even corner markers can be difficult to find or are non-existent. Barrett Powell, company owner, states “This is not replacing surveys, but it can be used on an informal basis to help locate boundaries”.

In addition, the company invested in portable GPS units for all Clients and Brokers to use. These units are available on a loaner basis to other Real-Estate firms and their Brokers wishing to show listed properties. Since utilizing this technology, the company has seen the number of issues arise from property boundary identification drop by over 98%. This saves both time and money for Clients and Brokers. Since listed properties are now easier to find and identify, dramatic increase in sales of land have occurred since the technology was put in use.

SAVVI is a new technology initiative of RE/MAX Southern Advantage that looks at ways of leveraging new technology and processes in this new Real-Estate market in order to provide a higher level of service for Clients and to make Brokers more efficient.
