Small Businesses in Canada are Responding to the Canada Post Strike
The Canada Post Strike is threatening the well being of small businesses across Canada, and one such small business decided to take matter into their own hands - literally. StickerYou, a small manufacturer of stickers and labels based in Toronto started hand delivering orders in the Toronto area in anticipation of the strike.
Toronto, Canada, July 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- StickerYou, a custom stickers and labels manufacturer in Toronto has bravely prepared for a potential Canada Post Strike that can take place as soon as this Friday.
As a fully online business, StickerYou is 100% dependent on transit partners such as Canada Post for product delivery. Canada Post delivers part of the company’s orders in Canada and the company took the delivery issue into its own hands (literally) in the event of a strike. StickerYou rented a car and is now hand delivering orders in the Toronto area.
“We learned about the potential of a strike or lockout a couple of weeks ago, and we knew we had to be prepared for it and find a solution for our Canadian customers,” said StickerYou founder and CEO, Andrew Witkin. “We automatically upgraded mid to large size standard mail orders to UPS shipping and offered additional upgraded shipping options to all of our Canadian customers. We’ve also taken matters into our hands, quite literally, and started hand delivering packages in the Toronto area. You can probably find our StickerYou delivery car on the streets of Toronto right about now, in advance of any potential strike. We simply couldn’t take any risk, and we sent out one of our staff to deliver the packages asap,” continued Andrew. StickerYou’s StickerCar can easily be spotted as it is colorfully covered in the company’s branding with decals and car magnets.
For any small business a Canada Post strike can have long terms consequences on the bottom line. StickerYou experienced the 2011 Canada Post strike and is now better prepared setting an example of how a small business can cope with such a disruption. “Not only do we ‘stick’ to our delivery time estimates, but we can use this opportunity to get to know our customers better, as we finally meet them face to face and learn what they like most about our sticky products,”, said Andrew Witkin.
