Newly Launched Bambu Products Selected for SustainAbility: Design for a Modern World Exhibition in New York City
Bambu’s new reclaimed cedar wood serving collection was selected for this year’s exhibition.
Portland, OR, July 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Bambu® has again been selected to showcase the company’s products in the exhibition, SustainAbility: Design for a Modern World in New York City. The SustainAbility exhibition showcases the very best in sustainable products, production methods and business practices.
Environmentally-conscious and socially-responsible products and producers from around the world will be showcased in this sustainable design exhibition from August 21st-24th at Javits Center in New York.
Bambu’s new reclaimed cedar wood serving collection was selected for this year’s exhibition. The eight (8) serving pieces are reclaimed from old Chinese homes. Each board, tray and coaster is hand selected, and a one-of-a-kind. The design is inspired by the hexagon, a design reference to their on-going support of honeybees and healthy eco-systems. Also selected are twocoaster designs with two new motifs - a modern, seasonal riff on the peace sign, and a turn-of-the-century bridge. The latest collection is now available on the company’s website at https://www.bambuhome.com
Bambu® has had its sustainable products featured in this sustainability exhibition more than any other brand since 2008. In 2015, bambu was awarded the Eco-Choice award for ‘Most Innovative’ product for the company’s reusable organic bamboo straws. In 2012 bambu won the Eco-Choice award for ‘Most Sellable’ product for its certified organic kitchen tools.
“It’s gratifying to be selected for this industry-leading exhibition once again to showcase our sustainable ideas. As we have grown, we have also watched this important exhibition gain international recognition. We are delighted to see sustainable design products take center stage,” commented founder and designer, Rachel Speth.
With roots in Portland, Oregon, since 2003 Bambu has designed, developed and manufactured handcrafted, modern home products made from renewable materials such as bamboo, cork, coconut, hemp, organic cotton, and soy. The company is based in Shanghai, China, where it produces more than 100 different products in its own production workshop and partnering facilities, all of which are located close to their raw-materials sources.
Bambu sustainable design products are sold in more than a dozen countries through diverse retail distribution partnerships in the gift, kitchen, gourmet, grocery and hospitality market segments. The award-winning company is a member of Green America and its Green Business Network earning the highest Gold Level designation, and manufactures using organic sources certified by Ceres, producing the only USDA certified organic eating and cooking utensils.
