Belfast Health and Social Care Trust Selects Scandox for Digitisation Project

Scandox, a paper reduction and digitisation specialist are assisting the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to reduce paper within their Trust.

Peterborough, United Kingdom, July 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) have set out to become as paperlight as possible by 2020 and ultimately paperless. By so doing, the Trusts in the region seek to improve internal efficiencies and consequently reduce clinical risk. An initial shorter term objective is focused on the redeployment of space and re-directing vital funds that are currently used to store hospital records, for improving patient care.

With over 20,000 members of staff, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is one of the largest Trusts in the United Kingdom. Delivering integrated health and social care to 340,000 people across Belfast and part of the Borough of Castlereagh, whilst providing specialist services across Northern Ireland.

"We’re excited to be working with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust in helping them to not only reduce paper, but also digitise their processes." — Elisabeth Belisle, Managing Director Scandox.

Over the next few months Scandox and BHSCT will be working together on a multi-stage project. Scandox have commenced the project by reviewing the current processes within BHSCT and are creating a roadmap for digitisation. This allows both parties to see the entire project and deadlines from beginning to end. Expert auditors from Scandox carry out an in-depth audit to determine the best option for scanning the BHSCT records. The auditors review a percentage of BHSCT records, allowing them to provide options for both in-house and outsourced scanning strategies.

"The work with Scandox in the preparatory phase of our project has been invaluable in allowing us to focus on the right areas for service improvement." —Paul Duffy, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust

BHSCT will be working with Scandox to become BS 10008 Compliant. They will undergo a training course alongside a Gap Analysis and Remedy review. This ensures that key staff can continue to implement the highest possible standards throughout the Trust and ensure their documentation complies with BS 10008.

Upon completion of this project, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust will be set with a plan of what is required to achieve their goal of being as paperlight as possible by 2020 in the most cost efficient way.
