Atlantic University to Offer a Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology
Atlantic University (Atlantic) announced today that they have received approval to change the title of their degree program from Master of Arts (MA) in Transpersonal Studies to Master of Arts (MA) in Transpersonal Psychology, a more widely understood and accepted designation.
Virginia Beach, VA, July 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Atlantic University (Atlantic) announced today that they have received approval to change the title of their degree program from Master of Arts (MA) in Transpersonal Studies to Master of Arts (MA) in Transpersonal Psychology, a more widely understood and accepted designation.
For the past 30 years, Transpersonal Studies has been the hallmark of Atlantic University, which was founded upon Transpersonal Psychology in 1930. It has served as a method of delivering a graduate degree in a field related to the philosophy offered in the Edgar Cayce readings, which can be summarized as a holistic approach to understanding the human experience with an emphasis on human self-transformation and the interconnectedness of life.
This life-changing program has provided students and graduates with the knowledge and expertise to pursue their personal objectives—some graduates have gone on to write books, while others began new careers or enhanced their current vocations, often in fields related to the service of others.
The MA in Transpersonal Psychology will fulfill the original intention of the program while better articulating the degree itself. The more traditional title of “Psychology” will provide a better outcome for graduates and complement the MA in Leadership Studies offered by the University.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer this life-changing degree to the public and hope those who learn about it will take some time to explore for themselves all that it has to offer,” stated James Van Auken, MBA, the Vice President of Academic Affairs and a Faculty Member at Atlantic University.
Atlantic University is a nationally accredited, online, nonprofit university offering two Master of Arts degrees, two Graduate Certificates, a noncredit Certificate in Spiritual Guidance Mentor Training, and lifelong learning options.
