Academy Medical Partnership with Acelity Strengthens Regenerative Medicine Offering to Federally Funded Medical Facilities
Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Academy Medical, has forged a partnership with Acelity, a globally diversified wound care and regenerative medicine company, to distribute the company’s full line of regenerative medicine products including ALLODERM™ Regenerative Tissue Matrix and STRATTICE™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Indian Health Services (IHS) centers.
West Palm Beach, FL, July 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- “We have been working on this partnership for some time, and are extremely excited to represent Acelity and their regenerative medicine portfolio in the federal sales channel,” said Dan Shaw, President, Academy Medical. “This company has tremendous products and clinical studies to support their clinical value. STRATTICE™ and ALLODERM™ Tissue Matrices have well documented outcomes, and we hope to expand their presence in VA and IHS facilities.”
The partnership leverages Acelity’s leadership and expertise in regenerative medicine, along with Academy Medical’s experience, schedules, and preferred vendor status with the US government, improving access to care by offering innovative, cutting edge technologies in a variety of settings, including VA and IHS medical centers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Academy Medical will distribute ALLODERM™ and STRATTICE™ Tissue Matrices into the federally funded medical marketplace. ALLODERM™ Regenerative Tissue Matrix is an acellular dermal matrix (ADM) used for repair or replacement of damaged or inadequate integumental tissue that, when sutured into the breast pocket, readily incorporates with a patient’s own tissue providing the tissue support needed in breast reconstruction. STRATTICE™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix is used to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists and for the surgical repair of damaged or ruptured soft tissue membranes, including the repair of hernias and/or body wall defects which require the use of reinforcing or bridging material to obtain the desired surgical outcome.
The agreement with Acelity, a leading provider of wound care and tissue regenerative products, offers Academy Medical access to Acelity’s specialized knowledge, expertise and network and allows Academy Medical to expand operations in the regenerative medicine environment.
