U.S. Toy Company Honored with Department of Energy Awards
Grandview, MO, July 15, 2016 --(PR.com)-- U.S. Toy Company was honored with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Interior Lighting Campaign (ILC) award for exemplary energy efficient lighting upgrades which was completed by BioStar Lighting. The ILC is a Better Buildings Challenge program with a goal of replacing one million standard interior troffer lights with energy efficient LED lights by May 2017. The award was presented at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) 2016 International Conference in Washington DC and recognized U.S. Toy’s commitment to sustainability.
U.S. Toy contracted with BioStar to replace more than 450 fluorescent fixtures and retrofit the warehouse in its Grandview, MO. headquarters. The project resulted in a total energy savings estimate of 340,000 kWh per year, reducing lighting energy use by nearly 70%. The entire project was completed in one weekend.
