The Johan Kriek Tennis Academy is an elite tennis academy run by a former number 7 in the world and a two-time Australian Open champion. Elite junior and high performance programs will offer extensive tennis training focusing on stroke production, point construction, match play, video analyses, fitness, gym and mental training. The 2016/2017 academy season for the after school training sessions and home school programs as well as high performance programs will kick off on September 1, 2016 and end on May 31, 2017. Fantasy camps, corporate special events and fundraisers for local charities are amongst the other plans for the Academy and Resort.
“I am very excited to have PGA National as my home base for my academy. With a great hotel/resort complex with 5 golf courses, 20 tennis courts, fitness facilities, spa and all the amenities a budding tennis player could ask for, it will be a hot bed for junior tennis development, for local, as well as international tennis players. It will also be a great place to practice for current and future professional tour players,” says Kriek.
"We are thrilled to partner with Johan Kriek and look forward to creating tennis programing here at PGA National similar to what we have accomplished over the years with golf,” says Greg Saunders, Managing Director. “The tennis program at PGA National is an excellent foundation for JKTA to build upon and is an added benefit to our members and resort guests.”
