Gate6 Wins Two Bronze and One Silver in the 37th Annual Telly Awards
Scottsdale, AZ, July 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The winners of the 37th Annual Telly Awards have been announced, and Scottsdale-based creative and digital agency, Gate6, has been awarded two Bronze and one Silver in the Online Video category. The winning videos were produced for Gate6 clients, Bluume and Vantage Mobility (VMI). The Blumme explainer video took a Bronze award for outstanding use of animation, and the “VMI – Dare to Compare” video won a Bronze for the Motivational Video category, and a Silver Telly – the highest award possible – for exceptional videography and cinematography.
The New York-based Telly Awards competition was founded in 1979 to honor outstanding local and regional commercials and programs. It has grown over the years to include cable and web videos, commercials, and programs. Entrants come from all 50 US states and countries on 5 continents. This year’s Telly Awards was one of the most competitive in the competition’s history, with nearly 12,000 entries. Approximately 7% to 10% of the entries are chosen to receive the Silver Telly. Less than 25% of entrants receive Bronze awards.
Gate6 has won a total of 28 Telly Awards over the last four years. Video Producer for Gate6, Susan Tan, said, “As a team, we want to tell real stories with our videos. We start without preconceived notions, and we take our inspiration from our clients.”
When asked how the team created the motivational “VMI - Dare to Compare” video, Tan said, “I had to capture the footage during a single, 30-minute ceremony. I knew there wouldn’t be any chances for retakes. Rather than focusing on what was happening, I chose to concentrate on capturing the emotions and reactions of the people involved.”
April Ray, the engagement manager for the VMI video, said, “It’s inspiring to work with a client that improves the lives of their customers. VMI is passionate about what they do, and as a team, we were able to wrap their customer focus into the final video.”
When asked about working with Blumme, Gate6 Motion Graphics Specialist Brandon Clark said, “Motion graphics animation takes a lot of team collaboration to create storyboards and illustrations, put together art direction, and create the final, cohesive animation. It can take weeks to create animations like Bluume, and when it’s all said and done, it’s a very gratifying feeling to see our teams’ ideas come to fruition. To have them recognized as industry-leading works gives our team and our clients the confidence to know that we are capable of producing exceptional results.”
