Developing an Even Better Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield: Development Consultant Named
The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield, providing the area’s youth between the ages of 6-18 with enrichment and recreation programs in a safe environment, has recently announced that Thomas A. Gabianelli of Diversified Nonprofit Services (DNS) has been appointed as the club’s Development Consultant.
Marshfield, MA, January 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Gabianelli will oversee the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield capital campaign to raise funds for a new space which will house operations of the 1,000 member strong club. Currently, the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield operates in a 4,000 square-foot storefront space at Library Plaza.
Gabianelli, a veteran of corporate giving campaigns who has sat on both sides of the fundraising table as donor and solicitor, offers a unique perspective on the solicitation process. His expertise in finance, accounting and business will help the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield achieve a higher level of economic accountability.
For more than 17 years, Gabianelli has provided consulting services through DNS Associates primarily to Boys and Girls Clubs across the nation. Prior to joining DNS Associates in 1991, Gabianelli, a Connecticut resident, was President and CEO of OmniBank of Connecticut. His involvement in the community includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Valley United Way, Valley YMCA, Seymour Land Conservation and The Salvation Army of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Gabianelli is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Finance, Class "A" School and Brown University's School of Finance and Management.
In a recent capital campaign feasibility study conducted and prepared by Gabianelli for the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield, the Marshfield community was found have a firm grasp on the primary purpose and necessity of the club while also perceiving the need for a larger space in which to operate.
“With today’s changing society and the proliferation of two working parents and single-parent families, the ability to give youngsters a place of their own in which they can socialize and interact in a safe environment with positive adult role models is the essence of the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield,” explained Gabianelli, who is an alumnus of the Boys and Girls Club in Shelton, CT as well as a former member of a Boys and Girls Club, having attended as a child for more than 10 years.
He continued, “The results of the feasibility study tell us that the community understands this and would support fundraising efforts for a larger facility. There is a general feeling that the club has served the community well and will be able to do a better job in a new facility and serve an even greater number of children. In addition, 80 percent of the community knows who is heading up the club and believes the leadership is effective. These factors are fundamental to a successful capital campaign.”
Greg Jackson, the club's executive director noted, “We’re very pleased to have Tom on board to oversee our capital campaign. He has a tremendous track record and is an asset to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield.”
