Infor HCM Workforce Management Simplifies Labor Forecasting and Scheduling for Retailers
Retail-Specific Enhancements Help Optimize Employee Productivity and Utilization
New York, NY, January 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- At the National Retail Federation 2008 tradeshow, Infor announced key, retail-specific enhancements to Infor HCM Workforce Management, formerly named Workbrain. New functionality enables retailers to more accurately schedule and optimize their workforce, as well as measure employee productivity and utilization for single locations or across multiple facilities.
Chief among the retail enhancements to Infor HCM Workforce Management is the addition of a new Labor Forecasting and Schedule Optimization (LFSO) configuration editor that consolidates the setup and administration of store information and company-wide scheduling processes onto one intuitive screen. With this new feature, retailers can set up new stores and apply scheduling changes to one or more locations quickly and easily. This new capability can result in significant productivity enhancements and lower administration costs, dramatically reducing to only a few minutes what can take several weeks to complete.

Many multi-location retailers have difficulty sharing labor resources across stores. To address this industry challenge, Infor has incorporated a new feature into Infor HCM Workforce Management called Employee Loan and Borrow. Employee Loan and Borrow enables store managers to view a complete schedule, identify an open shift and then initiate a process to borrow an employee from another location to fill that shift.
More than 20 new reports are also available in this enhancement, including the ability to measure the cost, productivity and utilization of workforce, which helps identify opportunities to further streamline operations, reduce labor costs and maximize customer service.
