First Baptist Church Covington Introduces "Celebration Station" Ministry for Children Grades K-5
Celebration Station is a children’s 52-week long program that compliments Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered recovery program designed to help individuals overcome hardships, hurts, hang-ups, and habits. So while adults explore topics that bring healing and wholeness, kids can discover the same truths in age appropriate ways.
New Orleans, LA, August 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Starting on August 2, 2016, at First Baptist Church Covington—Celebration Station, along with Celebrate Recovery and The Landing (the teen program for middle and high school students), will meet every Tuesday from 7-9 PM.
Celebration Station is a unique discipleship program that gives children hope for the amazing plan God has in store for them, friendships with other children and joy as they embark on the wonderful journey of songs, games, videos and impactful situations. Primarily, Celebration Station teaches children how to apply the tools they’re given to overcome the hard truths of everyday life such as family difficulties, problems in school or conflicts with peers. Celebration Station is directed by Jay Johnston, Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Covington, and a team of leaders who have been trained to provide guidance for each child. This is the first year for First Baptist Church Covington to introduce Celebration Station, but with the remarkable impact Celebrate Recovery and The Landing programs have had on those whom have participated, there’s no doubt Celebration Station will be extremely rewarding as well. Jay Johnston stated, “I was seeing how greatly God transformed the lives of the adults and teens through our recovery ministry. But our children also needed a plan to deal with life, and the time for that plan to be put into action is now!” This began his mission to bring Celebration Station to First Baptist Church Covington. Jay stated, “It’s our dream to break the cycles that break families,” and through Celebrate Recovery, The Landing and Celebration Station, that dream is becoming a reality.
