Care For Friends Announces Date for Fall Fundrasier
Organization plans to raise level of services to homelessness with stronger foundation.
Chicago, IL, August 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Care for Friends announced today that they have chosen September 29th as the date of their fall fundraiser. Capping off Hunger Action Month in September, the event is intended to help the organization strengthen its ability to connect Chicago’s most vulnerable with the resources they need to enable a better life.
“For years, we’ve been providing a set of services to Chicago’s homeless and under-served through an enthusiastic group of volunteers and a robust partner network,” said JD Miller, the President of the organization’s Board of Directors. “Yet we’ve come to realize that our programs have grown to such a scope that we needed to provide more organization and structure to them with the hiring of an Executive Director who can coordinate all of the moving pieces.”
On September 29th, Care for Friends will be hosting it’s first annual fall fundraiser at the Showroom on Hubbard (670 W. Hubbard Street, Chicago, IL). From 5:30-7:30pm, the group will be inviting support for its various programs, which include Food for Friends (a hot lunch program that can serve up to 150 guests at each of three weekly meals), Healthcare For Friends (which encompasses a foot clinic, basic wellness checks, and registration in universal healthcare coverage), Clothing for Friends (a program to provide clothing and shoes to those in need), and Toiletries for Friends (a hygiene program for those who live in challenging circumstances).
