First EHR Using the Carefluence OpenAPI for Interoperability Requirements to Achieve Modular Certification for Stage 3 of Meaningful Use

Grand Blanc, MI, August 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- ModuleMD WISE version 9.0 is the first EHR using the Carefluence OpenAPI product for interoperability requirements to achieve 2015 Edition Health IT Module Certification from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC-Health IT). This certification positions all of ModueMD’s customers to attest for Stage 3 Meaningful Use with respect to interoperability requirements. Testing and certification was performed by Drummond Group LLC, which has been authorized by ONC to test software for compliance with the interoperability requirements of the Meaningful Use program using ONC’s 2015 Health IT Certification Criteria. Drummond’s stamp of approval designates that the software offers the functionality that facilitates uniform, standards-based health information exchange, supporting the effort for a nationwide interoperable health information infrastructure.

When the Meaningful Use Stage 3 Final Rule was announced in October of 2015 ModuleMD employed Carefluence’s OpenAPI platform to demonstrate compliance with interoperability criteria for certification. Carefluence had developed an open API platform that could be deployed alongside existing EHRs-- providing functionality allowing open access to electronic health records and ensures modular certification. After integration with Carefluence’s OpenAPI platform, ModuleMD WISE, is now compliant with 2015 edition certification criteria for interoperability in the next stage of Meaningful Use and the Health Level 7 International (HL7) Fast Healthcare Interoperable Resources (FHIR) standard, which describes data formats and elements for easier exchange of health information across disparate IT systems.

This Health IT module is 2015 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
