Hood to Coast Relay: a Formidable Adventure

Portland, OR, August 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- For the 3rd consecutive year, Cascade Systems Technology, a Contract Manufacturing Company in Oregon, is competing in the annual Hood to Coast relay. This daunting course garners a formidable reputation through its 36 legs of varying difficulties. Teams of 12 start at Timberline Lodge, braving the elements day and night, to complete the 198-mile adventure in Seaside, Oregon. Hood To Coast partners with Providence Health to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

This year CST’s team ranges from first-timers to seasoned competitors. Daniel Avalos and Tony Llanes will be in their first relay, however teammate Jeff Korpi, will be participating in his 14th Hood to Coast. Korpi is running leg 5 for the first time, but after this year he will hold bragging rights of completing every section in this strenuous course.

Camaraderie, teamwork, and the sheer challenge that is Hood to Coast unites teams for a greater cause. Not only does it raise much needed funding towards cancer research, many personal goals are simultaneously achieved. Crossing the finish line is an endeavor that draws people back year after year. CST’s Fernando Gomez, a three-time competitor, enjoys the experience. “Although this feat may be difficult, there is a lot of support.”
