The Head of a Girl Set to Release Debut 6 Song EP
The Head of a Girl is releasing their debut E.P. on the 8 TRAX Sound label. This much anticipated alternative / electronic / industrial E.P. entitled “someplace somewhere.” is set for release August 26, 2016.
Chicago, IL, August 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Head of a Girl is the revisited overture of Glenn A. Dehmer, veteran Chicago electronic music producer / DJ. This debut E.P. is a studio project which has brought in renowned musicians from all over the globe.
The E.P. is being praised by some of the biggest names in the recording business! That list includes legendary English rock musician, record producer, and composer, Leigh Gorman, who plays bass, electric and acoustic guitar on 5 of the 6 songs as well as backup vocals on one. Gorman is best known for his work as the bass player for Bow Wow Wow and Adam and the Ants.
The music collaboration between Glenn A.D. and Gorman has been a long time in the making. The two have been friends for quite some time. "We met in a Vegas nightclub where I was DJing," says Gorman. "Glenn A.D. said I stole his gig, but it was cool because he got a gig running sound for Scott Ian's heavy metal club, Dead Man's Hand, and it paid more. He then told me, he had a proper studio in his house and invited me to come over and check it out. Glenn A.D. played me some of the tunes he produced and I thought it was brilliant! I immediately offered to play on just a few of the tunes but ended up playing on a lot more."
Gorman is not easily impressed. He has worked with the best of the best in the recording industry, including mega-stars such as the legendary Adam Ant, Billy Idol, Malcolm Mclaren, Queen Latifah, SOHO, Electric Skychurch, Fred Armisen and many more.
When asked whom he would compare Glenn A.D. to as a recording artist, Gorman laughed, and was quick to say "his influences are pretty poignant, Pink Floyd meets Nine Inch Nails meets Massive Attack, with a little Curve thrown in."
Glenn A.D. is enthused to work with Gorman. "I feel honored having been able to work with my friend, Leigh Gorman, on this album," says Glenn A.D. "He is truly a legend, and a highly gifted music-producer! To have Gorman collaborate with me on my music is a dream come true!"
The Head of a Girl is also introducing newcomer female vocalists Meghan Benson and Shel Bailey as well as Steve Krason on guitar, who play alongside some pretty amazing veterans in the industry. Vince McAley (gofight, Die Warzau), Gabriel Palomo (The Streets on Fire, Kill Memory Crash), and Alex Gross (Studio 11).

The Head of a Girl crosses many genres because the players and influences are vast. From Peter Gabriel to Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Public Image Limited, Portishead, Curve, PJ Harvey, and Depeche Mode. There are hints of classical (mysong, painfully remain) and blues guitar (calling) as well as the staple of electronic, industrial and world rhythms.
