Rachel Chánes Achieves Board Certification in Medical Practice Management

Tucson, AZ, August 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Rachel Chánes, MBA, CMPE, Practice Administrator, Pima Dermatology, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) by the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), the certification entity of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Chánes has achieved board certification in medical practice management. Through industry-leading board certification and Fellowship programs, ACMPE certifies an individual’s professional competence when s/he passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills sets as outlined in the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management. These include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. The individual must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.

Today, MGMA membership is comprised of more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or ACMPE Fellow status or who seek certification.

Rachel Chánes brings vision and leadership to Pima Dermatology with over 21 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Pima Dermatology in 2011, her roles have included Vice President of Medical Services & Community Programs, Vice President of Education and Training, and Regional Coordinator of Clinic Operations for Planned Parenthood in Arizona and Texas. She is the recipient of several local and national awards, including the 2005 “40 Under 40 Award” from Tucson Business Edge and 2010 & 2011“Women on the Move Honoree” awards from the Southern Arizona YWCA. She currently serves in the capacity of Vice Chair for the Board of Directors of Our Family Services, a nonprofit organization providing shelter and support to homeless children, youth and families as well as other innovative social service programming.
