Reports on Russian Trade with European Countries in Q1 2016
Russia's trade with European countries continues to fall as a result of the EU sanctions and Russian counter-sanctions.
Moscow, Russia, August 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of Europe in the first quarter of 2016.
The reports have been prepared by Russian Foreign Trade based on the data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
In particular, the reports have been issued on Russia's trade with the following countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Belarus, Italy, France, Poland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Ukraine, Finland, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Malta, Serbia, Moldova, Ireland, Slovenia, Norway, Croatia, Portugal, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Albania, Iceland, and Montenegro (40 reports in total).

A brief review of Russia's trade with European countries in the 1st quarter of 2016:
The share of European countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) declined from 54.53% in the 1st quarter of 2015 to 52.08% in the 1st quarter of 2016.
The share of European countries in Russia's total exports declined from 58.61% in the 1st quarter of 2015 to 55.43% in the 1st quarter of 2016.
The share of European countries in Russia's total imports rose from 45.78% in the 1st quarter of 2015 to 46.35% in the 1st quarter of 2016.
The major trading partners of Russia in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2016:
- The top ten Russia’s trade partners in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2016 were Germany (8.73% of Russia’s total foreign trade), the Netherlands (7.34%), Belarus (5.07%), Italy (4.15%), France (2.80%), Poland (2.43%), the United Kingdom (2.41%), Belgium (1.97%), Ukraine (1.93%), and Finland (1.83%).
- The top ten Russia’s export markets in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2016 were the Netherlands (10.70% of Russia’s total exports), Germany (7.48%), Belarus (5.21%), Italy (4.15%), the United Kingdom (2.75%), Poland (2.61%), Belgium (2.44%), Finland (2.19%), Latvia (2.09%), and Ukraine (1.95%).
- The top ten Russia’s import suppliers from Europe in the 1st quarter of 2016 were Germany (10.88% of Russia’s total imports), Belarus (4.82%), France (4.40%), Italy (4.15%), Poland (2.13%), Ukraine (1.89%), the United Kingdom (1.82%), the Netherlands (1.60%), the Czech Republic (1.52%), and Spain (1.33%).
The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Europe in the 1st quarter of 2016 over the 1st quarter of 2015:
- The share of Italy in Russia’s total exports declined from 7.48% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 4.15% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Belarus in Russia’s total exports rose from 3.90% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 5.21% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Ukraine in Russia’s total exports declined from 2.75% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 1.95% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of the United Kingdom in Russia’s total exports rose from 2.00% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 2.75% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Belgium in Russia’s total exports rose from 1.90% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 2.44% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of France in Russia’s total exports rose from 1.42% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 1.87% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Spain in Russia’s total exports declined from 0.92% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 0.58% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Russia’s total exports declined 3.5-fold from 0.1069% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 0.0305% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Ireland in Russia’s total exports rose 3-fold from 0.0645% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 0.1947% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of France in Russia’s total imports rose from 3.18% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 4.40% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of Ukraine in Russia’s total imports declined from 2.84% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 1.84% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
- The share of the United Kingdom in Russia’s total imports declined from 2.30% in the 1st quarter of the 2015 to 1.82% in the 1st quarter of the 2016;
