ALT Overcame the Technical Barrier, LEDs in High Temperature is No Longer a Dream

New Taipei, Taiwan, August 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Taiwanese high power LED manufacturer Aeon Lighting Technology (ALTLED) has dedicated itself to develop energy saving & highly efficient lighting solutions for almost a decade, and successfully released various categories of LED illumination that can serve in specific environments with different type of harsh conditions for both indoor and outdoor usage. Most recently, ALT broke through the technical barrier with the newly developed “Heat-Resistant Lamp,” which has the capability to stably operate in multiple harsh environments with the temperature of -40 Celsius highest up to 90 Celsius.

Along the way, LED has been the synonym for eco-friendly and high energy saving. Despite that the LEDs are getting commonly accepted, there are still technical concerns and doubts regarding its long term usage. The most essential one will be the “heat dissipation” for LEDs. Several issues would occur when the technology is not yet refined. Such as luminous efficiency deterioration, lifespan decreasing, color shifting, so on and so forth. Therefore, LEDs are generally not suitable to use in high - temperature environment due to the technology immaturity.

In order to satisfy the needs for this niche market, ALTLED devotes its time and resources to research. Patented heat dissipation technology, lead-free process, built-in military graded power integrated in one piece. After a heap of examinations, ALTLED successfully developed “Lodestar Series – Heat-Resistant LED lights.” In comparison to other normal LEDs, the Lodestar Series is able to maintain not only the heat dissipation function, luminous efficiency and right color rendering in 90 Celsius ambient temperature, but also top dust and water protection rating; IP68, to ensure the Lodestar Series is the best lighting solution choice for harsh environments and industrial locations.

A successful project will be the paper mill in southern Taiwan. The mill executive decided to follow the international code and switch all the traditional lights to LEDs. What forgotten is that LEDs do not last long in high temperatures. While all the machines are fully operating, the ambient temperature could reach up to 100 Celsius. Therefore, none of the LEDs could survive longer than few weeks. On an occasion, the mill replaced a few with ALT Heat-Resistant lamps, and found out the lighting performance is stable with no signs of damage after half a year. Eventually the LED replacement plan is approved due to the guaranteed quality and the saving on monetary value.
