Healthy, Life-Giving Community is at Heart of Evangelical Church Plant in Southeast Boise
Boise, ID, August 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- One of the Pacific Northwest’s newest evangelical churches, Passion Church, is now forming in southeast Boise. Lead Pastor Keith Twigg said, “The heart of Passion Church is to see the furthest hearts in Boise and beyond be overwhelmed by the love, grace and forgiveness of Christ. Our leadership team is currently focused on prayerfully and intentionally building the foundation for a healthy, life-giving church that honors God and cares deeply for people.”
Passion Church is a church plant of the Western Conference of the Evangelical Church and the daughter church of Faith Evangelical Church in Billings, MT. “The prayers, finances, wisdom and encouragement of the leadership and membership of the churches of the Western Conference, Faith Evangelical Church and many others are the underlying reason why Passion Church is happening in Boise,” Twigg said.
“When visiting Passion Church, one of the first things we want everyone to notice are warm, friendly people who care deeply for one another and make you feel welcome,” Twigg said. “Central to our church is the teaching and study of God’s Word, the Holy Bible. Along with this is worship that is alive, where people can open their hearts in adoration and praise of God. Discipleship is also a core value, and we desire members to become part of a smaller church community, where lasting friendships are developed and true transformation occurs.”
Outside of the amazing transformation that happens in people when they choose to follow Jesus, there are real benefits to having the church present and active in our local community, according to Twigg. “Whether it’s volunteering for service projects, taking care of the poor and needy, or getting involved in social programs, becoming a Christian of loving action is service that embodies the Spirit of Christ.”
Twigg said the burden to plant a healthy, life-giving church in a northwest city began to grow in the fall of 2011. Over years of prayer, counsel, seeking and visiting, he said he realized that he and his family were being called to the Boise Metro area. “Every day when I walk out the door of my home in this beautiful City of Boise and see the mountains rising up in front of me, I realize my family and I are finally home.”
“My passion for ministry was born out of my own testimony of redemption, as I spent the majority of my life as the ‘furthest heart’ from Christ,” Twigg said. “In 2007, Christ saved me and I have been chasing after Jesus and the work of His Kingdom ever since.”
Western Conference of the Evangelical Church Superintendent Steve Strutz noted, “Our denomination extends over several states and countries, but before now, one state glaringly missing in the church directory was the Gem State, with its 1.6 million residents. That is why we couldn't be happier to begin a multiplying movement of Evangelical Church ministries in the Boise Metro area.”
Twigg has a B.A. in Business Administration from San Diego State University, as well as an M.A. in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and is an ordained elder of the Evangelical Church. He lives in Boise with his wife Angela and two daughters, Sidney and Harper and is an avid outdoorsman, whether hunting, fishing, running or CrossFit. “Every time you see the Twigg family you see a miracle of God,” Twigg said.
