Eye Specialist Samer Hamada Attends the 2016 Congress of the ESCRS
London, United Kingdom, August 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Renowned London eye specialist Samer Hamada attends the 34th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons for this year. This event is the second largest meeting of its kind and will be held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark from 10-14 September, 2016. This is also the third time Mr. Hamada of Eye Clinic London has been invited to lead two courses of the programme.
Since being founded in 1991, the ESCRS has been Europe’s leading organisation for cataract and refractive surgeons. The society has over 5,000 members from 100 countries worldwide. The ESCRS aims to ensure that professionals in the field remain at the forefront of the developments in their respective line of work. This is what the Congress hopes to achieve, providing a forum for discussion where ophthalmologists all over Europe can freely interact with peers and receive updates.
Mr. Hamada will lead two courses on 12 September 2016 from 8:00-10:00 and again from 10:30-12:30. The first course, Complications and Expanding Applications of Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL), will offer a comprehensive view on the latest approved applications of CXL. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn what experts in the field would recommend when dealing with post-refractive surgery ectasia, peripheral marginal degeneration, bullous keratopathy, refractive surgery for keratoconus patients, and lamellar grafts. The course will also go over other subjects such as expanding applications of corneal cross linking and the future of CXL in adults and children.
The Refractive Surgery Options after Corneal Transplantation course, on the other hand, offers attendees a review on methods used to manage refractive errors after corneal transplant. Topics such as myths regarding and realities regarding corneal biomechanics, laser and non-laser corneal refractive surgery as means to correct corneal irregularities, and lens implantation for post-keratoplasty corneal ecstasia will be discussed. Attendees can will also get the opportunity to asses corneal refractive errors after transplantation through the use of diagnostic tools.
