The World Famous Whisky a Go Go Presents an Evening with Molly Ringwald
Iconic Actress Sings the Great American Standards at Historic Venue
West Hollywood, CA, August 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The world famous Whisky a go go on the Sunset Strip will host a jazz concert with stage and screen actress Molly Ringwald on Friday September 2nd, 2016. General admission ticket prices start at $38.50 and can be purchased at www.WhiskyAGoGo.com. VIP seating is also available for this all ages event. Doors open at 8pm and performance time is 10:15pm.
Molly Ringwald has been playing live with her jazz group in support of her 2013 album Except Sometimes. Her band consists of piano player Peter Smith, Clayton Cameron on drums, Allen Mezquida on saxophone, Mitchell Long on guitar, and bass extraordinaire, Trevor Ware. This will be Molly’s first ever performance on the famed Sunset Strip.
Whisky a go go Talent Buyer Jake Perry states, “Molly is a consummate entertainer and this show is certain to appeal to a variety of jazz fans as well as fans of her iconic movies. On top of singing the classics she also does a great rendition of theme song from The Breakfast Club. We are thrilled to have her perform at our venue.”
Molly Ringwald is most well known for her films like Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club but this Brat Pack actress was singing jazz long before she ever auditioned for anything. Molly’s father was a jazz pianist and she was exposed to the Great American Standards at a very young age; she even released an album at the age of 6. Molly is no stranger to the stage and has performed over 250 concerts with her jazz group. She is a client of the internationally respected management firm KMP Artists.
Founded in 1964, the Whisky A Go Go has been an anchor in the music scene on the Sunset Strip. For over fifty years the venue has been hosting rock & roll legends like The Doors and Van Halen and also breeding new ones. The Whisky is recognized as a historic music landmark and is the only surviving music venue to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
