SUNY Schenectady County Community College Establishes a New Agreement with Bellevue University
Articulation agreement establishes partnership between SUNY SCCC’s Associate Degree Program and Bellevue University’s Bachelor Degree Program.
Schenectady, NY, August 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- SUNY Schenectady County Community College and Bellevue University signed an articulation agreement today, recognizing an exciting new opportunity for SUNY SCCC students to continue their education. With this partnership, SUNY SCCC graduates who obtain an Associates Degree or approximately 60 SUNY SCCC credits will be accepted into Bellevue University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree.
“We are thrilled to announce this recent partnership with Bellevue University,” said SUNY SCCC President, Dr. Steady H. Moono. “The agreement serves as a welcomed enhancement to the SCCC curriculum and will open new doors for our students with a 4-year degree from this established institution.”
This articulation agreement will benefit SUNY SCCC graduates pursuing more than 50 different undergraduate degree programs, including degrees in Media Communications, Business Administration, Security Management and a number of science programs. After completing their Associates Degree or approximately 60 credit hours, SUNY SCCC students can complete their Bachelor Degree with Bellevue University in less than two years while continuing to live, work and play in the Schenectady County community.
There will also be an on-campus Bellevue representative at SUNY SCCC to work with transfer students on course registration, scheduling and general course advising. Students, who take advantage of this partnership, will earn a degree from a nationally renowned university, further preparing them for competitive careers in their chosen industries.
“Bellevue University is proud to celebrate our new partnership with SUNY Schenectady County Community College,” said Bellevue University President, Dr. Mary B. Hawkins. “It is a privilege to be able to open a location on campus that will enable SUNY SCCC and Bellevue University to better serve students, faculty and staff, and provide a seamless pathway to help students reach their educational goals. We truly appreciate the warm welcome and the opportunity to serve the SUNY SCCC community for years to come.”
SUNY SCCC has created several new opportunities for local students in the past few years, most recently establishing a partnership with John Jay College of Criminal Justice just last week. SUNY SCCC has also joined Achieving the Dream, a network made up of more than 200 other colleges across the country, establishing New York’s first International Student Program Partnership with Niskayuna High School, and the Minority Mentoring Program.
