Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. T. Sankaran Releases LexisNexis’s Book "Environmental Law in India, 4e" Authored by Dr. P Leelakrishnan
Gurgaon, India, August 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. T. Sankaran, Judge, High Court of Kerala and President, Board of Governors, Kerala Judicial Academy, released LexisNexis’s book ‘Environmental Law in India, 4th Edition,’ at NUALS, Kochi, on the evening of August 11, 2016, in presence of eminentdignitaries like Professor Rose Varghese, Vice-Chancellor, NUALS;Mr. S. Subhash Chand, Advocate, High Court of Kerala; and Mr. Mahadev M. G., Registrar, NUALS;along with members of faculty, bar, media and students.
On the occasion, Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. T. Sankaran said, “This book incorporates the landmark judgments delivered by the Constitutional Courts in India. It includes an exhaustive discussion and a critical dialogue on landmark judgments. The author, Dr. P Leelakrishnan, has given examples from the Vedas, Upanishads and Purans that talk about the importance of nature and environment.” He added, “It’s our responsibility to save the environment by creating and following strong environmental laws.”
During the occasion, Professor Rose Varghese congratulated Dr. P Leelakrishnan for writing a wonderful book and said, “The book exhaustively deals with the constitutional mandate for environmental protection, judicial review of decisions affecting environment, problems hovering around the Bhopal Gas Tragedy andthe litigation connected therewith, environment impact assessment and public participation in the assessment process.
