Getzner to Demonstrate Vibration Mitigation Solutions at The Water Expo
Materials Lessen Noise & Maintenance Costs of Water Pumps/Water Equipment
Charlotte, NC, August 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Getzner, the leader in vibration mitigation materials for construction, industrial and railway applications, will be exhibiting at The Water Expo Aug. 31 – Sept. 1 in Miami, Fla., showcasing its water pump and water equipment vibration mitigation solutions. A demonstration of Getzner’s ability to reduce vibration will be ongoing at booth #504.
From septic tanks, fountains and pools to pump rooms and stations, equipment that contains water is becoming increasingly complex in terms of the construction and fittings, making them more sensitive to vibrations. As such, the equipment amplifies and transmits structure-borne noise, which could cause noise complaint issues when the equipment is near populated areas. Getzner’s Sylomer® and Sylodyn® materials are proven to efficiently reduce vibration, and subsequently structure-borne noise, by combining spring and damping characteristics. All this can be achieved with considerably smaller construction heights and thicknesses than with steel spring or rubber pad solutions.
For example, the increasing popularity of swimming pools in penthouse apartments, on terraces and inside residential buildings and hotels, often located next to areas reserved for rest and relaxation, has been the source of a lot of interest amongst designers responsible for architectural acoustics. Audible sounds, from the pumps and movement of the water, naturally spread through a building to neighboring rooms creating noise and causing discomfort. From Las Vegas to Vienna, Getzner has been able to reduce vibrations by insulating hotel and resort pools and all of the related equipment so that the mechanical system and water itself is quieter and the equipment has a longer service life.
Elastically mounted pump and water equipment is more cost-effective and efficient in the long term. Solutions that are added later are often more expensive in comparison, which is why it is recommended to consider elastic mounting at the planning stage.
Getzner’s wide range of vibration mitigation materials are selected for each individual application to achieve the optimal performance. Committed to offering the best-in-market solutions and customer support, Getzner strongly invests in research & development, and is armed with a highly competent team of interdisciplinary experts. About Getzner
Getzner USA, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., is a subsidiary of Getzner Werkstoffe, which is located in Austria. The expert in manufacturing elastic solutions for various applications in the railway, construction, industrial and acoustic business, Getzner has 45 years of experience designing polyurethanes to last and perform at the highest level. Getzner’s material has versatility in usage as it could serve as a vibration mitigation material, an elastic component to improve the service life of bedded components and minimize the need for maintenance and repairs on tracks, vehicles, structures and machines, or as a functional component such as a gasket. The material is available in two cellular polyurethane versions in multiple densities – Sylomer (open cell) and Sylodyn (closed cell), as well as in a high damping version – Sylomer HD. By reducing noise and vibrations, Getzner is making a valuable contribution towards enhancing the quality of individuals’ living and working conditions.
