Consider Vocational Options at NSC

Oswestry, United Kingdom, August 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) will be starting the academic year with a host of new vocational courses, NSC now offers the widest range of BTEC, CACHE and City & Guilds courses in the area after moving away from A Levels. Vocational courses at NSC are ideal for anyone who has a clear idea of what type of career or trade they would like to work in. Many NSC students who have completed vocational qualifications have gone on to complete degree courses at universities up and down the UK including universities in the Russell Group.

Level 3 vocational qualifications are considered incredibly valuable in the workplace and are an acknowledged route into Higher Education. The Higher Education admission service, UCAS, says that A Levels are still the most popular route into university, but parents and students need to be aware of other options. The number of students entering Higher Education by routes other than A Levels has increased; 26% of people accepted onto degree courses in 2015 have held a BTEC qualification, compared to 14% in 2008.

NSC will be holding an Advice and Guidance Evening on Wednesday 31st August 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at its Oswestry, Walford and Shipley campuses. If you’re still considering your options for September 2016 or your AS or A Level results weren’t what you were expecting, then come and see us to discuss your options.
