IST Research Named to Inc. 5000 of Fastest Growing Companies
Fredericksburg, VA software company added to annual list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies with three-year sales growth of 318%.
Fredericksburg, VA, August 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- IST Research, developers of the Pulse Platform used to address global human security issues, has landed on the 2016 Inc 5000 list. The Fredericksburg, VA-based company debuted at number 1,221 on the 35th edition of Inc. magazine’s annual list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States with 318 percent growth in sales over the past three years.
“This is a great honor for IST and an even greater testimony to the hard work, dedication and commitment that our entire team displays every day,” said Ryan Paterson, founder of IST. “We set out with Pulse to open novel data streams in some of the hardest places to reach on earth and are proud to be supporting operators in many countries and in turn to be recognized for tremendous growth that has resulted from supporting our partners.”
The Inc. 5000 offers a unique glimpse into the world of the most dynamic segment of the American economy – fast growing independent small businesses. IST has grown by creating a technology focused company operating in an R&D environment. IST receives funding through three main customer sets: federal research and development agencies, international development agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Pulse was initially created with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA), the US government agency tasked with radical technological innovation. Throughout the development of the Pulse technology platform, IST also received funding from USAID and the World Bank to use Pulse operationally to conduct data collection in Afghanistan. Further funding for operational deployments has recently been provided by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) to deploy Pulse throughout central Africa in the most disconnected geographies.
As Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg says, “ No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great – usually from scratch” and Pulse is proving to be a valuable technology to meet operational needs and serve as the engine for our corporate growth.
