Digital Lion Makes Donation to Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research
Digital Lion, a leader in the Web development, graphic design, and digital marketing field, donated a portion of its profits to a charity helping those in the community.
Calgary, Canada, August 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- In keeping with their commitment to donate a portion of their proceeds each year to charities that help make a difference in the community, Digital Lion has made this year’s donation to the Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research. The centre, which is a nonprofit, uses the funds to help those in the community with disabilities.
“Every year we donate ten percent of our profits to charity so that we can further our mission of Designing a Better World®,” shared Ryan Levin, president of Digital Lion. “This year we chose to make the donation primarily to the Vecova Centre, where they will put people to work who may not otherwise be able to find work. They are doing a lot of good things to help those with disabilities in the community.”
Years ago, Digital Lion made it part of their mission to “Design a Better World®.” As part of their mission, they pledged to donate 10 percent of their profits each year to worthy causes. They have donated to a variety of causes, including those helping people, the environment, and in community improvements.
The Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research was started in 1969 and has been serving the Calgary area and beyond ever since. They are an accredited and registered charity which provides support and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. They have several programs, including a recreation centre and a bottle depot program. Their services include living support, employment services, community access, professional support and transition planning. They do everything from helping those with disabilities to live independently, to enabling them to pursue educational opportunities, and many things in between.
“I’m impressed with how this charity has a philosophy that teaches the people to fish,” added Levin. “They are truly helping people in the community to be able to better help themselves, making a real difference. We are proud to be able to help support and further that mission.”
