Opal Book Publishing Welcomes Back Author Tonya Phillips of Temple Hills, Maryland
Author Tonya Phillips, returns with her second drama novel "In The Eyes of a Thug."
Temple Hills, MD, August 28, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Tonya Phillips, mother of three, is back on the scene with her second novel. She first came to Opal Book Publishing after having such a bad experience with her very first project with another publishing company, which led to the publishing of her next novel “Faces of Shame” (released on April 27, 2013). While after working on her first novel, she decided to keep up her writing with the completion of her next debut, ‘In The Eyes of a Thug’, due to release on August 28, 2016.
‘In The Eyes of a Thug’ is a collection of short stories that are based on scenarios in different states involving young men and women, and the risks that are taken in their lives before they realize the importance of having an education and structure. When asked what motivates her to write, she responded, “I enjoy writing about situations that have a deep and influential meaning behind it.”
When she’s taking time from writing, she enjoys listening to music and reading other books, such as writing from Terry McMillan and Jerome Dickey, and traveling when she has the time.
Tonya Phillips currently works as a Special Police Officer for the DC Public School System and plans to continue with her writing endeavor, which has extended over 10 years now. She is now currently working on the completion of ‘Faces of Shame 2’, the continuation of her first novel, which can be found on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
She states that her biggest supporter is her fiancé who stands behind her and her work unconditionally, as well as her family and longtime friends.
