About Marella B. Mangum Chakua
Mrs. Mangum Chakua is a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local nursing home and also an Entrepreneur. She invented “The Electrical Maid” cleaning device for use in hospitals and nursing homes in response to being frustrated about numerous multi-resistant microbes in healthcare facilities. Her inspiration came from recognizing a problem and knowing there had to be a solution. She holds the patent on this device.

Born on December 27th in Durham, North Carolina to Travis Mangum and Mary Elizabeth Mangum, Mrs. Mangum Chakua obtained a B.S. in Biology from North Carolina Central University in 1999. She received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army and has served in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 6 years. She serves as a Full-time Certified Nursing Assistant with the Sheyenne Care Center, and as a traveling C.N.A. with The Good Samaritan Society.

Marella recently married David Magati Chakua on August 22, 2016. They have two children, Jadyn and Magati. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, sewing, reading and inventing.
