KIB and Phi Theta Kappa Partner in Park Beautification Project

Irving, TX, August 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) has enjoyed a long partnership with the Alpha Zeta Eta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, working together on a variety of projects over the years. For the past few summers, the Alpha Zeta Eta officer team has volunteered to do a project prior to school starting, and on Friday, August 26, they continued that tradition with a paint project at Shady Grove Trail Park in South Irving. A total of 20 volunteers gave 80 hours in service in painting the entry sign and fence, two pavilions and two entry gates. The City of Irving Parks Department partnered to provide the supplies, technical guidance and access to the park for the project.

“Phi Theta Kappa is an organization that places importance on its members giving back to the community,” said KIB Board Member Chuck Kirk. “We are so fortunate to have the Alpha Zeta Eta chapter here at North Lake College, because they are one of the strongest chapters in the country. It’s great that they want to kick off the school year by doing a service project, and we are happy to partner with them. They have painted at Fritz and Trinity View Parks and the Georgia Farrow Recreation Center, and this time at Shady Grove Trail Park, so they really have made a positive impact on the Irving community.”
