Thriving Brain Foundation Presents Event to Help Children with Auditory Processing Disorder

Leading experts gather to share information on how to assess, diagnose, remediate and accommodate auditory processing disorder.

Sherman Oaks, CA, September 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Locally-based non-profit, Thriving Brian Foundation, aims to help parents and educators find resources that will make learning easier for children with learning challenges. On September 11, 2016, the organization will present ‘How to Help a Child With Auditory Processing Disorder.’ This special event will bring together leading experts to discuss what auditory processing disorder (APD) is, how it can be diagnosed, how it affects children in school, and how it can be helped.

Parents, educators and health professionals are invited to come and learn how they can optimize learning for a child with APD. This seminar will take place on September 11, 2016 from 10 am to 1 pm, at Courtyard by Marriot, 15433 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, California. Presenters include:
· Dr. Bill Keith, audiologist and founder of SoundSkills, New Zealand, and an expert in the research and diagnosis of auditory processing disorder
· Alex Doman, CEO of Advanced Brain Technologies and an innovative pioneer in the development of therapies that improve the symptoms of APD
· Bonnie Landau, CEO of Thriving Brain Foundation, a parent of a child with resolved APD, and an expert in accommodating APD in the classroom.

“An informed parent or special education professional is the best advocate for a child with issues,” says Dr. Shahrzad Cohen, audiologist and founder of Auditory Processing Centers, sponsors of this event. This seminar was created for parents and professionals who want to understand more about what APD is and how to help a child with this condition. As a hidden and misunderstood disability, these children are often misdiagnosed, and schools and family do not know how to help them. This seminar offers an opportunity to learn specifics about APD and to walk away with resources and information to help these children find more success in school and in life.
