Vesper Atelier Celebrates Ten Years of Sculpture

Vesper Atelier is Minnesota's leader in ecological-based sculpture and invites the public to observe a bronze pour on Monday, September 24, 6-9pm, at the Casket Arts Building, 681 17th Ave. NE, Minneapolis.

Minneapolis, MN, September 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Ten years ago, Vesper Atelier was formed as a private art college by sculptor Dan Noyes. In 2014, the college was reframed into Vesper Atelier, whose mission is to provide an education for public sculptors grounded in a respect for, and inspired by, the earth. Today, Vesper Atelier is Minnesota’s leader in ecological-based sculpture.

Located in the historic Casket Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis, The Atelier provides an outcome-based diploma program for aspiring public sculptors as well as a Fellowship program for those who choose not to pursue a diploma. The organization also actively promotes life-long learning through community classes that introduce people to sculpture-making in a fun and supportive environment. Vesper is especially proud that it has taught over 3,300 women to weld (63% participants in Vesper’s programs are women).

Vesper artists create work for private and public commissions. Further, sculpture by Vesper artists is currently on display in five Minnesota public art programs and in more cities nationwide.

In September, Vesper Atelier will concentrate on teaching the arts of molding and carving bronze. The public is invited to observe a bronze pour on Monday, September 24, 6-9pm, outside the Casket Arts Building, 681 17th Ave. NE, Minneapolis. There is no charge for this.
