Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa aims to highlight Santorini to a prominent destination worldwide, in the context of its main operating axles, by informing its visitors regarding the sites of interest of the island, and urging them to visit local wineries, restaurants and cultural events.

The environmental consciousness of Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa was born before even the first foundations of the hotel were built, as numerous of studies were conducted in order to find out and establish a completely friendly operation of the entire unit towards the natural environment, but also the historical and cultural background of the island. As concerns the hotel’s construction, it was carried out with the aim to optimize its energy performance, by using, modern insulating materials, automated engineering systems and modern automation systems, which ensure the optimization of the hotel’s operation and save a significant amount of consumable resources. It is also worth noting, that the hotel proceeded with the reconstruction of the traditional paths, called “rymidia”, which are a particular feature of the island and are located outside the hotel’s limits, in order to highlight the beautiful history of the region.
Moreover, the architecture of Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa is an indicative example of the respect and interdependence the hotel has towards its external environment, as the greater part of each space is built combining stone, wood, cement mortar, and marble, in almost the same way as the traditional homes were built in the past.
Since its construction, the hotel showed its preference and support to the local community, by choosing in majority local contractors, local suppliers and employees, ensuring, thereby, the best possible quality of the offered goods and services and strengthening Santorini’s local economy. In this way, all the well-known local products of the island are offered at the hotel's restaurant, while at the bar the visitors have the opportunity to taste the famous wines of Santorini and some locally produced beverages and spirits (Mr. Sigala’s prickly pear distillate, sparkling wine of the Santo Wines’ Union, Red & Yellow Donkey beer).
