Led by KGW anchor Cathy Marshall, Ms. Brown will detail what she wished she knew then and what she wants others to know now.

Portland, OR, September 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Denise Brown to Launch Inaugural “Conversation” Series for DVSD

Denise Brown, well-known author, lecturer and sister of domestic violence victim Nicole Brown Simpson – former wife of OJ SImpson, will headline Domestic Violence Safe Dialogue’s (DVSD) first-ever “A Conversation With…” series, Friday, Sept. 23, 6:30 p.m. at Winningstad Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, Portland. The event will be moderated by KGW news anchor Cathy Marshall.

Ms. Brown has been widely acclaimed since her sister’s 1994 murder for her dedication to banishing the darkness and ending the silence surrounding domestic violence. Through her past work with the Nicole Brown Foundation, she has played an active role in improving the quality of life for the 1.3 million women and children who are victims of domestic violence each year.

“The program will provide an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about Nicole Brown and the domestic violence she suffered in private, while also gaining insights from Denise Brown on what she wishes she had known and can now share with others,” said Dr. Carrie Banks, founder and executive director of DVSD.

DVSD is recognized as a groundbreaking program centered on domestic violence advocacy, working to stop the cycle of domestic violence by facilitating safe, supervised conversations between survivors and offenders who have never met. The dialogues help both parties foster transformative change within themselves and others, with conversations occurring in both one-on-one dialogues as well as group panels.

Founded in Portland, DVSD operates primarily in the Pacific Northwest. All proceeds from the “Conversation” series will be dedicated to helping DVSD reach more survivors and offenders of domestic violence.

Tickets for the Sept. 23 event range from $75 - $150 and can be purchased at www.portland5.com.
