The Heinz Endowments Awards Corporate America Supports You $100,000
Lake St. Louis, MO, September 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Corporate America Supports You (CASY) is proud to announce receipt of a $100,000 grant from The Heinz Endowments.
While the unemployment rate for post-9/11 Veterans dropped to a record low in 2015, underemployment continues to be a problem for Veterans of all eras. Building on a 2015 study by the Center for a New American Security that found underemployment to be a major factor in Pittsburgh region Veterans’ lives, the Endowments, which commissioned the research, is committed to supporting initiatives that combat Veteran underemployment and unemployment in the Pittsburgh community.
This grant will enable CASY to establish resources in Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Butler, and Westmoreland counties, to place post-9/11 Veterans in family-sustaining positions commensurate with their experience and increase the number of employers hiring Veterans in the region.
CASY Senior Executive Vice President and a native of Western Pennsylvania, Stacy Bayton celebrated the Endowments’ support, “We are excited to expand our services to assist Pittsburgh’s large and diverse Veteran population and are thankful for The Heinz Endowments’ support of this project. It’s good for Veterans; it’s good for businesses; and it’s good for the Pittsburgh community.”
