LyondellBassell to Implement Contractor Background Screening Requirements Through the DISA Contractors Consortium

Houston, TX, September 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- LyondellBassell (LYB), one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies, has announced the implementation of new background screening requirements for its contractor workforce. The driver for this important initiative is LYB’s policy (Rules for Contractors), which requires that all contractor employees perform background screens in accordance with NABSC. LYB’s new requirements will be managed by DISA through the DISA Contractors Consortium. As the provider for this program, DISA will conduct background searches and will provide compliance monitoring services. This program will be mandated at 11 LYB plants in Texas and will go into effect on November 1, 2016.

The DISA Contractors Consortium (DCC) is the largest contractor compliance program of its kind and provides compliance services to the oil and gas and construction industries. The DCC is mandated or accepted by more than 30 E&P operators across multiple locations, including offshore Gulf of Mexico, and nearly 50 refinery owners, many with multiple facilities included in their mandates. This year alone, the DCC will be implemented at 29 additional refinery owner facilities.
