Uplift Community Comes to East Dallas
Local Entrepreneur, Matthew Newman and other business and community leaders host free community forum to discuss what it means to “Go Local” and its importance.
Dallas, TX, September 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Matthew Newman, an East Dallas Lake & Garden District entrepreneur, is thrilled to bring Uplift Community to East Dallas - a public event where local business and community leaders collaborate to share the importance of creating stronger community bonds and economic stability through community uplift and outreach.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 12-4pm at the White Rock YMCA located at, 7112 Gaston Avenue, Dallas, TX 75214. For more information, or to register visit, www.MatthewNewman.org.
"As an advocate, resident, and small business owner of East Dallas, I stand strong on the belief that the heartbeat of any community should be its residents," says Newman.
There are countless benefits to choosing to stay local, rather than extending resources outside of the community. Studies have shown that to "Go Local" strengthens the local economy, creates a healthier community, and also the amount of cash, and in-kind donations from local businesses given to local non-profits and charities to improve the community are significantly greater.
Through the networks of The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce and Big Brothers Big Sisters, Matthew Newman will host speakers, panels, and forums dedicated to the subjects of spending, voting, and volunteering locally.
"It's our hope that this is the first of many events that will demonstrate to other surrounding communities what it means to be a community - an area rich in culture, where giving and sharing is our heart," states Newman.
