Photographic Exhibition Opens as Part of Holocaust Memorial Day Events in Liverpool

Liverpool, United Kingdom, January 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- An exhibition of photographs by Steve Deer opens at the Philharmonic Hall on Hope Street in Liverpool on Monday January 21st. The exhibition, Auschwitz Anywhere, organised by The Artfinder’s Gallery, in conjunction with Holocaust Memorial Day 2008 features images of the notorious death camps in Poland.

Auschwitz Anywhere features 10 black and white, digitally shot photographs which cast an ambiguous view of the Nazi concentration camps where over a million people were killed during WWII. The photographs attempt to capture the heavy mood of the surroundings, and without knowing the context and history of the locations could easily have been shot at any railway siding, or collection of utilitarian buildings.

The exhibition runs from January 21st until February 3rd and editioned prints of the photographs are available for sale for £70 with 30% of all profits going directly to Amnesty International. The images can also be viewed and prints bought from www.auschwitzanywhere.com.
