Expii.com, Emory University, and the Templeton World Charity Foundation are happy to announce that, due to an overwhelming response, they are extending the deadline for the Spirit of Ramanujan Talent Initiative until December 1, 2016.
The Spirit of Ramanujan Talent Initiative was inspired by Srinivasa Ramanujan, a mathematical genius who overcame impossible odds to change the future of mathematics. In conjunction with major motion picture, The Man Who Knew Infinity, the Spirit of Ramanujan Talent Initiative seeks to discover mathematical talent from around the world and connect participants with transformative educational opportunities through grants supported by the Templeton World Charity Foundation.
Up to 20 eligible individuals will be awarded Templeton-Ramanujan Scholarly Development Prizes for furthering their educational pursuits. Sponsored by the Templeton World Charity Foundation, they will engage with professional mathematicians as participants in the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Atlanta, USA, from January 4-7, 2017.
Up to 10 participants will be offered financial support to attend and participate in approved summer research in mathematics. They will receive a Templeton-Ramanujan Summer Fellows Prize to cover summer program expenses.
By extending this deadline, the organizers hope to give even more people around the world the opportunity to take advantage of these amazing educational opportunities.
Starting on November 1, eligible participants will be invited to apply to the next round of the search via the American Mathematical Society’s MathPrograms.org. Everyone will have the opportunity to continue to raise their scores on Expii Solve until the December deadline.
