Since 1994, Siborg has been a source test equipment for the semiconductor and electronics industries; their most recognizable devices being the LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers LCR- and ESR-meters. The Smart Tweezers devices were created as an easy-to-use, one-handed-operated alternative to conventional testers that require both hands and set-up between every measurement. Smart Tweezers combines a set of gold-plated tweezers with a lightweight multimeter that is easily held and operated with one hand and supplies instantaneous measurement results with no-set up required. When the tweezer-probes are in contact with a component, the devices will automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters before displaying the results on the embedded OLED display; including the type of component, main and secondary values, test frequency used and measurement mode.

Siborg's biggest seller is the LCR-Reader Pro: a pre-bundled kit that comes with a calibrated LCR-Reader, NIST traceable calibration certificate, spare bent tweezer probes, extra battery and charger. This kit is on sale now in the LCR-Reader Store for $216 USD until the end of September.

The LCR-Reader was created as a lower-cost alternative to Smart Tweezers for customers who wanted a device like Smart Tweezers but without the high price. By removing some features and offering a slightly lower basic accuracy than the Smart Tweezers models, Siborg was able to cut costs to the benefit of customers. The LCR-Reader preforms in the same way with component identification and instant results, but lacks some features and the extensive menus, while still having a 0.5% basic accuracy.

Smart Tweezers ST-5S is the professional based model with the most features, extensive menus and a 0.2% basic accuracy. This model comes with spare bent tips, NIST traceable calibration, and charger. Siborg has also begun offering a Bluetooth enabled model of Smart Tweezers, the ST5S-BT. Based on the ST-5S, this model allows users to connect to computer or dedicated apps; when connected, the device opens a virtual serial port and sends data to communication software such as NI LabView or Tera Term free software. All data is sent in a comma separated string of values that represent what is shown on the display at the time of measurement, including the main impedance value and type, secondary value and type, test signal frequency and level, measurement mode and 4 reserved values. Siborg currently offers 2 versions of the Smart Tweezers Bluetooth in their store: one with the USB receiver dongle, and one without. Note: the receiver dongle is required to connect to computer and especially for NI LabView.

Over the past year, Siborg has expanded their device offering to include Test Tweezers devices and other SMT test equipment. These devices include:

SMD Multimeter Test Tweezers: this device connects to most multimeters and works as tweezer probes instead of using dual wire leads. These are best used for measurements that do not require high accuracy.

LCR-Reader Probe Connector: this kit turns any LCR-Reader or Smart Tweezers device into a probe station, allowing to measure components larger than the tweezers' spread would normally allow. The kit comes with 7 interchangeable heads that are easy to install; including long and medium pin probes, multimeter connectors, spade connector and alligator clips.

Smart LED Test Tweezers were designed mainly to test through-hole and surface mount LEDs with a 12VDC output and variable current ratings, but can also test circuitry, switches, fuses and more. With the included connector cable, Smart LED Test Tweezers can be used as tweezer probes with most multimeters.
