Miniature Figures, Vignettes, Vehicles, Planes, Ships, Dioramas and More Will Return to Chicago at the MMSI Show on October 22nd
Come see an array of hand-painted figures, vehicles, planes, ships and more and learn how they are made by the artists. Visit the exhibit hall to see who will win the awards and stop by the vendor area to take home your own miniature piece of history or pop culture.
Chicago, IL, October 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Returning for its forty-second year, the Military Miniature Society of Illinois will be offering a wide array of hand-painted miniature figures, airplanes, ships, vehicles and more in a wide variety of styles and subjects representing all historical periods from ancient Rome right up through today’s conflicts along with other subjects like science fiction, fantasy, gaming and movies. This event has taken the toy soldier many played with as children and elevated them into stunningly detailed and artistic pieces of art.
The MMSI Chicago Show will be held at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg hotel located at 50 Martingale Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173 (near the Woodfield Shopping Mall).
You will be able to get up close to and experience the amazing talent, creativity and attention to detail of the artists who are displaying their figures ranging in size from under one inch to over a foot tall. These artists will be submitting their work for awards and to share with the public to see examples of knights in armor, soldiers from many eras, planes, tanks, ships along with other unique creations.
Besides the exhibit hall displaying the many creations by artists from around the globe, those wanting to learn more about how these figures are created, free seminars that are open to the public attending the show will be offered by some of the most talented artists in the hobby. For visitors wanting to take home a painted miniature, they can do so by attending the auction on Saturday, October 22, 2016 starting at 1:30 pm or visit the tables of vendors coming from all over the country selling military art, memorabilia, miniature figure kits, artist supplies, books and more.
