ChartaCloud’s 2016 NAO Robot Congress Expands to Feature Advances in Robotic Developments for Pediatric Hospitals, Autism Therapies and STEM Educators
Researchers, Developers and Users from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany and the United States to Convene in Massachusetts at UMASS Lowell’s NERVE Center October 13 and 14. Congress to Debut the Integration of the NAO robot and Virtual Reality.
Portsmouth, NH, October 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- ChartaCloud Technologies LLC (“ChartaCloud”) today announced that the NAO 2016 Robot Developers and Users Congress (“Congress”) being held at the New England Robotics Validation and Experimentation (NERVE) Center at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Massachusetts – home of the NASA Valkyrie Robot – has expanded its agenda in response to the diversity of use cases submitted for presentation. The NAO robot from Softbank Robotics remains the world’s leading ‘humanoid style’ robot in use today.
The NAO Congress will feature keynote presentations by: Momotaz Begum, Assistant Professor, University of New Hampshire regarding the impact of NAO based autism therapies; Matthew Craig Gombolay, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology on NAO’s use in decision support in a hospital environment; and James Dietrich, North American Business Manager, SoftBank Robotics on the future of the NAO robot.
NAO robot application and language developers from Canada, Belgium, France, Germany and the United States will present their NAO robot use case applications in decision support systems, medical uses such as pediatric assisted medical care, pediatric dentistry, skilled nursing facilities, autism therapy, dementia therapy, STEM education, consumer retail engagement, hospitality/hotel concierge and public library sponsored makerspaces. In addition, TNG Consulting of Munich, Germany will present the integration of the NAO robot integrated with 3-D cameras and Virtual Reality interface.
“This is a premier opportunity for medical professionals and educators to observe the state of the art in advancements in NAO based robotics. Developer panel discussions, independent developer showcases, and technical breakout sessions will provide ample opportunities to interact directly with expert developers and robotic researchers,” said Mike Radice, chairman, Technology Advisory Board, ChartaCloud.
The NAO robot is the world’s most popular ‘humanoid style’ robot offering the ability to speak in 19 languages, make video observations, perform object recognition, respond to QR code directed behaviors, navigate mobility with embedded Sonar, utilize multiple feet sensors to guide balance and movement and self-righting capability. Advanced NAO robot behavior programming languages will be demonstrated that puts the use of the NAO robot easily within the grasp of students and non-technical professionals. Advanced ‘open’ SDKs and APIs enable experienced developers to create even more sophisticated applications.
“The advancement of the NAO robot in ever expanding use cases has been nothing short of astounding and this Congress is a unique opportunity to see true productive and impactful uses of the NAO robot – live,” concluded Radice.
NAO was originally developed by Aldebaran Robotics of Paris, France which is now owned by SoftBank Robotics.
