STEG-IS Returns as Platinum Sponsor for iPAD Rwanda Energy Infrastructure Forum in Kigali in November
STEG International Services (STEG-IS) has partnered for the third time as platinum sponsor with the iPAD Rwanda Energy Infrastructure Forum that will take place from 1-2 November in Kigali, Rwanda.
Kigali, Rwanda, October 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- STEG International Services (STEG-IS) has partnered for the third time as platinum sponsor with the iPAD Rwanda Energy Infrastructure Forum that will take place from 1-2 November in Kigali, Rwanda. The forum will gather investors, project developers, finance houses, construction and planning companies, technology providers from Rwanda, the region and from the rest of the world as well as high-level government representatives.
The Rwandan Minister of Infrastructure, the Honourable Mr James Musoni, will once again deliver the welcome address during the opening session of iPAD Rwanda on 1 November. The third edition of the event continues to enjoy strong, official support from the state power utility REG, the Rwandan Ministry of Infrastructure as well as the Rwandan Development Board.
Significant ER project in Rwanda
STEG-IS is a leading international engineering, construction, and technical services provider for public and private sector companies, and is a subsidiary of the Tunisian state-owned Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) which has successfully succeeded in its mission mainly the electrification of the country. Tunisia is one of the few countries in the African continent where the rural electrification rate has reached more than 99%, as against 6% in 1976.
STEG-IS has been active in Rwanda for some time says General Manager, Mr Mohamed Ammar. He explains, “Apart from the Middle East, STEG-IS is present in several African countries. The main activities performed include but not limited to: project planning, studies, network development, control and supervision of construction works, Rural Electrification ER projects (EPC) in Tanzania, Senegal, Cameroun, Sierra Leone and Congo.”
He adds, “However, it should be noted that the most significant ER project performed by STEG-IS was Rwanda ER PROJECT regarding the electrification of six districts of the Eastern Province of Rwanda for the connection of 55,000 households and the construction of a medium and low-voltage distribution network and a major program of support, training and capacity building of the Rwandan Electricity Company EWSA.”
During iPAD Rwanda, STEG-IS’s Deputy General Manager, Mr Jamil Korked, will moderate one of the Project Roundtable Discussions on the conference programme with the focus on: “The benefits of adopting a MALT system: STEG International’s Rural Electrification case-study.”
